Faroe Islands Salmon on Eurest Menus
Eurest has taken a significant step forward in its commitment to protecting healthy aquaculture and sourcing sustainably, partnering with Highliner Foods to source salmon from the Faroe Islands.
Located in the heart of the Northeast Atlantic Ocean, halfway between Scotland and Iceland, the Faroe Islands salmon story is unique and innovative. The region’s crystal-clear waters, consistent chilly temperatures, robust currents, and deep fjords create an ideal environment for raising high-quality salmon.
“Faroe Islands salmon is incredible quality and the impact we can have by sourcing through High Liner Food and Bakkafrost is a milestone for us,” said Eurest VP of Wellness and Sustainability Suzanne Landry. “Salmon is a popular menu item but in order for it to be available for the future, we need to preserve the environment it thrives in.”
Eurest supplier High Liner Foods partners with Bakkafrost, a leading producer of superior quality salmon, that is dedicated to responsible seafood farming and meeting strict ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) standards that prioritize fish welfare, environmental care and community well-being.
Bakkafrost uses high-quality, locally sourced feed from the clean waters of the Faroe Islands, providing salmon with a natural diet rich in healthy Omega-3 fatty acids.
In October 2024, Eurest marketplaces released a new Salmon Power Bowl to celebrate National Seafood Month.
